Man Utd Target Gallagher Makes Feelings Clear On January Move As He Admits He’s “Not Satisfied”

BACK David Tully Nov 17th 2025 Man Utd transfer target Conor Gallagher insists that he is “very happy” at Atletico Madrid, despite his lack of game time this season. The former Chelsea player did admit that he is “not satisfied” with how many minutes he is playing, but when asked if he could leave the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in January, he replied: “I’m very happy here. My goal is to win titles with Atleti, and I want to have a bigger role in the team. And, as I’ve said, I’m going to keep working as hard as I can to play more minutes and help the team.” “Sometimes it’s difficult to get a few minutes on the pitch and show everything I can do. But, as I said, the most important thing is to do my best for the coach and the team, and that’s what I’m trying to do right now. I’m already very settled. My girlfriend and I love living here. It’s an amazing city and we’re very happy.” Man Utd may test Gallagher’s resolve It is believed that the Red Devils could revive their interest in the England international when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. They made an attempt to snap up Gallagher on loan last summer, but Atletico were only interested in a permanent deal. A loan offer with an option to buy could, therefore, be on the cards. There are other midfield targets If Gallagher is true to his word and stays in Spain, United may explore alternatives. They are known to be big fans of Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, but it is unlikely that any of these players will move mid-season, unless a huge bid is tabled. The likes of Wolves’ Joao Gomes, Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller, Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham and Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand are among the other names under consideration.
