Man Utd Face Fight To Secure £62M Deal As Arsenal Make ‘Contact’

BACK David Tully Nov 16th 2025 Man Utd are trailing Arsenal in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, according to reports. TEAMtalk claim that the Gunners have “initiated contact” with the German international’s agent Jorge Mendes ahead of a potential transfer in January. Earlier this week, it was reported that United were the team most likely to make a move for Adeyemi, who is currently unsettled at Dortmund. However, the 23-year-old is said to favour a move to London, rather than Manchester, giving Arsenal the edge in negotiations. Dortmund have set their asking price for Adeyemi It is believed that the forward will be on the market for around €70m (£62m) when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. Adeyemi’s contract expires in 2027, and talks over a new deal have stalled, prompting Dortmund’s openness to offloading the player. At the moment, TEAMtalk say that United and Arsenal are the two likeliest destinations for the German. While there is said to be interest from Chelsea and Barcelona too, neither of those two teams are prepared to make a move before the end of the season.
