United monitoring Arsenal star’s highly rated twin who is out of contract next summer – report

Manchester United are monitoring several midfielders as they look to strengthen the position in 2026. Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system has divided opinion among fans and pundits over the past year, but the Red Devils are slowly getting their act together this season. United are currently seventh in the Premier League table after 11 games, just two points behind third-placed Chelsea. Amorim’s team are unbeaten in their last five games, which include three wins and two draw. New signings Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens have hit the ground running at the Theatre of Dreams, spearheading the Red Devils’ recent rise. However, the midfield remains a cause for concern for the English giants. Midfield reinforcements likely in 2026 Amorim has used Bruno Fernandes as a pivot midfielder this season and he has adapted superbly to the role. The Portuguese midfielder has struck a partnership with Casemiro, who is out of contract next summer. The Brazilian remains linked with an exit from the Theatre of Dreams, and United are already eyeing several candidates to shore up the middle of the park in 2026. Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba was on Amorim’s agenda this summer, and he remains linked to the club. Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and VfB Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller have also been named as options. It now appears that the Red Devils also have their eyes on an Eredivisie midfielder. United monitoring Quinten Timber According to Caught Offside, United are keeping a close watch on Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber. The Dutchman has been in fine form for the Rotterdam side, registering 14 appearances across competitions, all but two of which were starts. A previous report relayed by The Peoples Person states that the Red Devils also monitored the Dutchman this summer. Timber is highly rated across Europe, with Arsenal, West Ham United and Borussia Dortmund in the race as well. The Gunners could have an advantage in the chase, given that the player’s twin brother, Jurrien Timber, is already an established figure at the Emirates. Arsenal, however, have a settled midfield pairing of Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, so the Feyenoord midfielder may struggle for opportunities if he makes the move. That could tilt the tide in United’s favour in the race. With Kobbie Mainoo linked with an exit and Manuel Ugarte struggling to impress, Timber could have a greater chance of featuring for the Red Devils. However, the report adds that Dortmund are willing to make a move in January should the Eredivisie club be prepared to cash in on Timber. United, as such, may have to act fast if they want to win this race. The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
