Former United manager rejects chance for sensational return to club – report

Former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is still trying to sort out his future in management. Life at United Ten Hag was appointed manager of the club in 2022 and guided the team to a third place finish and a Carabao cup win in his first season. The second year also saw a trophy as United won the FA Cup but witnessed a massive decline in league performances as they finished eighth. The third year was also very disappointing and the Dutchman was sacked on October 2024 after a 1-2 defeat to West Ham United. In a calamitous time at the club, he was fired after only three matches. Nonetheless, it was reported last week that Ten Hag was in discussions with former club Ajax to complete a sensational return. Dutch paper AD has poured cold water over the idea of Ten Hag returning to Ajax though. The article states that, “Erik ten Hag will not be the new coach of Ajax.
