The attacker has struggled since joining the Villans, where he is yet to score a goal or play any real major role for Unai Emery’s side. Struggles The 25 year old has largely been restricted to appearances in the Europa League, making only three appearances in the Premier League. He has made a total of seven appearances without contributing a goal or an assist during his 317 minutes on the pitch. Performance versus Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. Sancho made a rare start for Villa and played 75 minutes of action. He once again did not score or assist in the 2-0 win but he did play his part. Sancho had three key passes in the game but could only complete one of his five cross attempts. The winger completed 80% of his passes but struggled to get into goalscoring positions as he failed to attempt a shot on goal. The 25 year old was a threat down the wing though, as he completed all three of his dribble attempts on a decent night for the Villans. Sancho was not at his strongest defensively, winning three out of eight ground duels and he did not participate in any aerial contests. Future away from United There have been reports that United are prepared to lose Sancho on a free this summer and not risk extending his option for another year in his contract. Reports suggest he may be lining up a move back to Germany to Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The England international could be next in action for Villa when they face AFC Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
