Elliot Anderson was hugely impressive against Manchester United over the weekend. He truly put on a show at the City Ground, with United boss Ruben Amorim watching on first-hand. Passed his United audition Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro could not cope with Anderson’s strength, tenacity, and quality in midfield. Casemiro, in fact, resorted to repeated fouls as the phenomenal England international authoritatively bossed the centre of the park, racking up brilliant numbers that fully justified his growing hype. Giant bid being prepped Now, in a follow-up to that revelation, Teamtalk have dropped a fresh bombshell. They claim: “Manchester United are intensifying their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, viewing him as a prime and realistic target for the January transfer window, and an offer is being prepped.” United confident offer will seal the move While it is clear Nottingham Forest intend to rebuff any transfer approaches for their star man, the outlet goes on to reveal: “Nottingham Forest have drawn a clear line in the sand: pay big money or back off. “We understand Forest are setting their stall out around the £80m mark, though United believe a deal can be struck for closer to £60m.” Whether a deal can eventually be struck remains to be seen, but United’s offer should certainly bring both sides to the table. Crucially, United will be hoping a compromise can be reached, especially with Anderson reportedly being “very keen on a move to Old Trafford”. Having failed to land the dynamic midfielder Amorim desperately wanted last summer, there is arguably no better response than Anderson. The 22-year-old, with his impressive physicality, stamina, and defensive work rate, could well become the tempo-setter who takes United’s engine room to the next level.
