Man United Told To Replace “Sloppy” And “Inconsistent” Players – They Could Sign “Fantastic” PL Star!

BACK Dylan Oakley Nov 4th 2025 Man United have been told they need to sign a new left-back in the January transfer window to help improve.  The Red Devils are currently on a four-game unbeaten run. Their most recent game was a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest, which, if they had won, would have put them second in the Premier League table. Ruben Amorim will be looking ahead to their next game, which comes against Tottenham at the weekend; however, he will also be looking at the January transfer window, which is closing in. Seeing as United look like they have a chance to make the European spots this year, it would be silly for them not to make the most of the window. Lee Sharpe says United should sign a new left-back Former United player Lee Sharpe believes that Amorim should sign a left-back, naming Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot as two players who need replacing. He told Adventure Gamers: “Both Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu have struggled at left wing-back for Manchester United this season “I’ve always thought Dalot is a bit sloppy in his decision-making at times – he gives the ball away cheaply and gets caught out of position defensively. I also don’t think he gets close enough to wingers when they’re crossing the ball, so there’s a few things in his game that I feel need improving. “I think it’s an area Man United would want to look at in January or next summer. Dorgu looks like he could become quite a good player, but he’s had a couple of injuries and is a bit inconsistent with his form, so he’s not quite ready to be relied on just yet.” Who should Man United sign at left-back? One name that has been linked with United in the past is Crystal Palace star Tyrick Mitchell, who has been playing as a wing-back for Oliver Glasner. Mitchell is used to playing in a more attacking role, but he is also very good when tracking back, which is exactly what Amorim needs when he uses his 3-4-3 formation at Old Trafford. Glasner is a big fan of the English wing-back. He said in an interview with Crystal Palace’s Official website last year: “He’s such a great guy and has such a fantastic working attitude. … My experience is if you have such an ambitious guy with this great passion to improve it will happen.” He has an estimated market value of around £25m, and would be the exact type of player that Sharpe is on about to help improve United on the left hand side.
