Lineker directly opposes critical Neville, he thinks ‘promising’ Man Utd star has more in his locker

Despite Manchester United claiming only one point from their battle with relegation-fighting Nottingham Forest, Gary Lineker was full of praise for the side’s frontline once again.Ruben Amorim opted against making any changes to his starting XI at the City Ground, trusting the same crop of players who overturned Brighton and Hove Albion 4-2 a week prior.Nott’m Forest vs United: What happened on Saturday(Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images)There were hopes they could add a fourth consecutive win to their three-game tally after Casemiro opened the scoring in the 34th minute from a controversial corner; Forest were adamant the set piece shouldn’t have been awarded in the first place, as the ball had not fully gone out of play.Alas, their frustrations intensified when United went on to score from the chance. Morgan Gibbs-White levelled the contest just 14 minutes later, before Nicolò Savona gave the hosts the lead just after the interval. It then took United until the 81st minute to get themselves back into the tie, courtesy of a scintillating Amad volley on the edge of the area. When Darren England blew for full-time, both teams were made to settle for a point apiece. What pundits are saying about Benjamin Sesko(Photo by Molly Darlington/Getty Images)Whilst none of United’s attacking summer signings were able to add to their goal tallies, Lineker did single the trio out for praise in the latest release of The Rest Is Football podcast.“[Matheus] Cunha is a really good player and [Bryan] Mbeumo is a really good player,” Lineker told Alan Shearer and Micah Richards.“[Benjamin] Sesko, I think, might show something as well. I think he’s promising. So, I think it’s been better recruitment, but time will tell on that as well.” On the other hand, former Red Gary Neville shared a more critical opinion of 22-year-old Sesko, saying: “I’m no further forward with him. The jury is out. He’s well off it compared to the other summer signings Manchester United made up front, like Cunha and Mbeumo.“He looks awkward. He had a couple of good opportunities against Forest, but his touch wasn’t quite right. For £80 million, you can say he’s young and settling in, but you still want to see a bit more.”
