What Jason Wilcox said about every Man United summer signing

Manchester United Technical Director Jason Wilcox only had words of praise when discussing the club’s four summer signings. The Red Devils had embarked on a major tactical overhaul last summer, signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, while offloading Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund. The Premier League giants also addressed their goalkeeping woes by recruiting Senne Lammens on deadline day, and sending the disappointing Andre Onana on loan to Trabzonspor.Jason Wilcox delighted with Man United summer signingsWhile it remains too early to pass judgment on the new boys, the signs have been overwhelmingly positive thus far, with all four players cementing themselves as regular starters, even though Cunha and Sesko have been occasionally vying for a place. Therefore, Wilcox is naturally proud of the work he and his collaborators conducted during the summer.“Yeah the guys have settled in really, really quickly.” said Wilcox in his interview with Man Utd’s official website.(Photo by Richard Heathcote/Getty Images)The 54-year-old is pleased with how all four players have adjusted swiftly to their new surroundings at Carrington, albeit he expected nothing less from established Premier League stars, Cunha and Mbeumo.“Yeah the guys have settled in really, really quickly,” said Wilcox in his interview with Man Utd’s official website.“I think especially when you look at Matheus and Bryan, they have played in the Premier League and they have lived in England, so there is a quicker transition.”Despite making moves from abroad and joining the squad at a relatively late stage of the summer, Sesko and Lammens have also managed to make themselves at home, much to the director’s delight.“I think for Benji and Senne, you look at their transition and they have transitioned really well. We are really pleased. They are two young players, two for the future, but they have settled in amazingly well.”Wilcox insists Man Utd are on the upWilcox also heaped praise on the club’s transfers from the previous campaign, the likes of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, insisting that United are finally on the right path.“They are all good guys, even from last summer’s window, they are top professionals, top players and we are really optimistic we are going in the right direction. “We have a clear plan. I am sure there are going to be bumps in the road but we have just got to make sure we stay calm irrespective of the noise outside. I see the intensity, I am at training every day, I see the way that they train, the way they apply themselves, the way they communicate and get on with each other.”Man United are currently riding a three-match winning streak for the first time since Ruben Amorim’s appointment almost a year ago, and this is no small part thanks to the new recruitments.
