Park withdraws from England squad

Manchester United Women midfielder Jess Park has withdrawn from the England squad.

The summer signing from Manchester City has made a positive start to life with the Reds but sustained a delayed concussion following our most recent Barclays WSL game, the 4-1 win at Everton.

As a result, she did not make the trip to Spain for the UEFA Champions League victory against Atletico Madrid and has not trained with the Reds since the incident.

Despite reporting to St George’s Park on Monday, Jess has still experienced some symptoms.

The 24-year-old has returned to United to continue her rehabilitation, with our next assignment at Brighton & Hove Albion, early next month.

We still have two representatives in the Three Lions squad in Maya Le Tissier and Ella Toone.

England play Brazil on Saturday (17:30 BST kick-off), before another friendly, against Australia, on Tuesday night (19:00 GMT).

Our best wishes go to Jess as we look forward to seeing her back on the pitch after the international break.
