Manchester United have a spring in their step following their hard-fought 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, 19 October.
Ruben Amorim’s side have now won three of their last four Premier League games, scoring seven goals and conceding five.
Fans have every right to feel optimistic, with the team finally beginning to show character and spirit. The Red Devils are ninth in the league table after eight games, but they are only three points behind second-placed Manchester City.
Summer signings have settled in well
INEOS were very active over the summer, bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to revamp their frontline. The trio have settled in well and have been heavily involved so far.
Meanwhile, Senne Lammens arrived from Royal Antwerp on deadline day to help solve the club’s goalkeeping issues and has now started the last two games. The Belgian has been a revelation, and it’s no surprise that United have won both matches.
Amorim’s side are on the rise, but the Portuguese head coach is also keeping an eye on the future. Despite investing heavily in the attack this summer, recent reports suggest that the Premier League giants are planning further reinforcements up front in 2026.
Dusan Vlahovic has been mentioned as a target, alongside Real Madrid starlet Endrick. A recent report from The Peoples Person stated that the Brazilian is unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu and is open to leaving on loan in January.
Signing a rising star like Endrick could prove to be a huge coup for United, but it now appears that prising him away will not be easy.
Xabi Alonso wants Endrick stay
Speaking in the build-up to Los Blancos’ Champions League clash against Juventus, as cited by The Mirror, manager Xabi Alonso brushed aside talk of a loan exit for Endrick at the turn of the year.
“Endrick on loan? We’re not at that point yet. The competition in attack is intense. We have to be prepared for every game. Endrick, Gonzalo, and Brahim have to be ready,” said Alonso.
“They’re going to come in, and have to be ready. This is the elite, and we need a lot of good players.”
Endrick has yet to feature for Real Madrid since Xabi Alonso’s arrival in the summer. The Brazilian was an unused substitute in the last six matches across competitions and is understandably frustrated by his lack of game time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Unless his situation improves, Endrick is likely to push for a loan move in January to boost his chances of featuring at next year’s FIFA World Cup. United are expected to face competition from Juventus, Marseille, Newcastle United and West Ham United in the race for the youngster.
The Red Devils are likely to keep a close eye on how the situation unfolds between now and the end of the year. If Endrick continues to struggle for game time, United could test the waters in January, particularly given Joshua Zirkzee’s uncertain future.
