German journalist Christian Falk reveals the truth behind the recent rumours linking Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes with a move to Bayern Munich.
Despite the arrival of new stars in the summer like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, the Portuguese midfielder has arguably preserved his status as the club’s most elemental player. Club legend Michael Carrick identified him as one of the best players in his generation.
The 31-year-old produced another fabulous outing at Anfield, guiding the Red Devils towards a famous 2-1 win over arch-rivals Liverpool.
Nevertheless, Bruno’s future has been placed under scrutinty in recent months, as some claim this will be his final season at Old Trafford.

Bayern Munich not interested in Bruno Fernandes
While the playmaker has been repeatedly linked with a transfer to one of the Saudi Pro League giants, a recent British report claimed that Bayern Munich are preparing a major onslaught for the former Sampdoria and Udinese star with Man Utd naming their price at £70 million.
Nevertheless, Falk has now rubished this claim in his latest update on CF Bayern Insider.
The reliable journalist insists that the reigning Bundesliga champions haven’t made any plans for the Man Utd skipper. On the contrary, Vincent Kompany and the club management are extremely happy with their current options.
The Bavarians consider Jamal Musiala as the present and future for the No.10 role, while Serge Gnabry has been filling in admirably in the absence of his young compatriot.
Could Man Utd part ways with Bruno in 2026?
With Bayern ruled out of the equation, it remains to be seen if the Portugal international would be tempted by the financially-lucrative Saudi offers. Nevertheless, Al-Hilal and their domestic foes have been knocking on his door for several years now, but haven’t been able to sway the attacking midfielder.
Bruno’s stats by club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Man Utd | 299 | 100 | 87 |
Sporting CP | 137 | 63 | 59 |
Udinese | 95 | 11 | 13 |
Sampdoria | 35 | 5 | 3 |
Novara | 23 | 4 | 2 |
Nevertheless, a recent report from the Daily Mail claimed that Fernandes could be tempted by the opportunity to play for another top European club, especially if Man Utd fail to reach the Champions League next season.
Moreover, the player’s contract will expire in 2027, so United could seize the opportunity to sell him in 2026, at least if they were to receive an enticing offer.
