More reports from Italy are confirming Manchester United’s interest in Dusan Vlahovic, who’s widely expected to leave Juventus at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old joined the Serie A giants in January 2022 for circa €80 million, which is considered an astronomical transfer fee by the standards of the Italian top-flight. The Serbian is currently the league’s top earner, with a yearly net salary of €12 million.
However, the centre-forward hasn’t always been able to justify his hefty costs, with his stats taking a big hit in recent years, and his performances coming under great scrutiny.
And yet, Vlahovic has been Juve’s top goalscorer in every full campaign he spent at the club, and is even leaving the charts this term with four strikes to his name, despite having to share his starting role with new signings Jonathan David and Loic Openda.

In recent months, the Bianconeri tried to extend the player’s contract, but to no avail. They then attempted to sell him in the summer, but they were equally unsuccessful on that front. Therefore, the management has resigned to losing the player’s services for free once his deal expires in the summer.
This situation has naturally piqued the interest of several top suitors around Europe. According to TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, Man Utd are among three clubs vying for the player’s services, with the other two suitors being Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
What would Vlahovic bring to Man United
This obviously isn’t the first time that United are linked with Vlahovic, but with the player’s Juventus contract nearing its expiry date, the Premier League giants now have a golden opportunity to poach his services as a free agent next summer.

While Juventus are still hoping to sell Vlahovic in January, the striker’s three main suitors are all happy to wait until the summer, as none of them is prepared to negotiate a transfer fee in mid-season.
MUFC have already revamped their attacking ranks this summer, with Benjamin Sesko assuming the No.9 role. However, the club could do with a more experienced centre-forward who can rotate with the young Slovenian, especially if they manage to overcome their early-season woes and qualify for Europe next season.
