The voting has opened for Manchester United’s Player of the Month for September.

There is no escaping the fact that this has been a difficult spell for the Reds, losing to both Manchester City and Brentford, either side of an excellent 2-1 home victory over Chelsea.

We have a three-man shortlist for our second award of the 2025/26 campaign, with Bryan Mbeumo winning the prize in August.

With only three games to consider, these are the players chosen, and you can cast your vote using the poll.

The announcement of the Tiger-sponsored trophy winner will be made on Thursday.

Who is your choice for September’s Player of the Month?

PATRICK CHINAZAEKPERE DORGU (3 apps / 1 assist)

The Denmark international registered his first assist since joining the club, when heading down for Bruno Fernandes to open the scoring in the win over Chelsea.

The wing-back was also involved in the lead-up to Casemiro’s goal when popping up beyond the far post, just before Reece James sliced the ball high into the air.

Indeed, the fact it was his cross from the left that ultimately led to Benjamin Sesko claiming his maiden United strike, at Brentford, means he was prominent in each of our three goals across the month.

BRUNO FERNANDES (3 apps / 1 goal / 1 MOTM)

The skipper picked up our sole Man-of-the-Match award in September, leading by example in the 2-1 triumph over Chelsea.

Not only did he open the scoring, with his 100th goal for the club, by jabbing the ball past Filip Jorgensen but he switched to a more attacking position and took the fight to the Blues, when they hunted an equaliser, forcing a brilliant save out of the substitute keeper after a dynamic burst forward.

Of course, our no.8 was denied from the spot by Brentford’s Kelleher, following an extended delay to the taking over the kick, but his standout display over the course of the three games earns him a place on the shortlist.

BENJAMIN SESKO (3 apps / 1 goal)

The Slovenia striker crucially got off the mark by pulling a goal back at the Gtech Community Stadium last weekend, and is looking more and more accustomed to life in the Premier League.

It was a case of third-time lucky after Brentford keeper Caoimhin Kelleher blocked his first two attempts but his perseverance was rewarded when he found the net to make it 2-1.

An excellent flick-on prompted the red card in the Chelsea win too, when Mbeumo was fouled in a one-on-one situation by Robert Sanchez, and, although he was sacrificed at the interval after Casemiro’s dismissal, it’s also worth noting Sesko managed a couple of decent shots in the loss to City. One strike saved well by Gianluigi Donnarumma presumably would have counted, even though a free-kick was awarded for handball at the time.
