Alan Shearer reveals why Manchester United could stand a chance against Chelsea despite a woeful start to the season.
The Red Devils suffered a miserable demolition at the hands of their crosstown rivals, Manchester City, last weekend, leaving them with only four points from as many fixtures.
On Saturday, United will take on another title contender as they’re set to host Chelsea in Saturday’s late kickoff.
Man United & Chelsea prepare to lock horns at Old Trafford
Although the Blues have been far more convincing than Man Utd, they’re also coming from a disappointing week. Last weekend, they had to settle for a 2-2 draw in Brentford, before succumbing to a 1-3 defeat at the hands of their hosts Bayern Munich on the opening day of the Champions League group stage.
Therefore, both clubs will be keen to secure a morale-boosting result when they lock horns later today.

Metro Ruben Amorim’s future at MUFC
“It’s a huge game for Amorim. One where they need to see a huge improvement,” argued the England legend.
“They can’t be as weak as they were last weekend. I haven’t been impressed with anything I’ve seen from them this year and I don’t think that’ll change.”
Alan Shearer believes one factor will play in Man Utd’s favour
Despite his gloomy view of the situation at Man Utd, the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer tips Amorim’s men to snatch a draw thanks to Chelsea’s midweek commitments, which could cost them as the match wears on.
“Chelsea playing a tough game in the Champions League could help them, so I’ll go for a draw.”
The West Londoners’ trip to Munich will surely take its toll on the team, but Enzo Maresca should theoretically have enough depth at his disposal, allowing him to inject fresh blood into the side.
