After a derby defeat, the overriding emotion is disappointment.
Following our 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday, Noussair Mazraoui expressed the same frustration that our fans will be feeling, giving a frank and honest assessment of the match at the Etihad Stadium.
“I am feeling bad,” he said to MUTV.
“Disappointed in myself, in the team, and disappointed for the fans that we couldn’t bring the performance we did lately today.”
After a bright start, Phil Foden’s header deflated United’s optimism and, from that point onwards, the Reds struggled to fashion an equaliser. Erling Haaland’s second-half double took the match away from the Reds and, effectively, settled the encounter.
“If you lose and you play good and you have the chances we created in previous games, you can take some positives,” added Nous.
“But today was just not good enough.
“It is hard to say [where specifically it went wrong] because you are always full of emotion after the game, so I always try to calm down and try to analyse the game.
“Otherwise, I will just point fingers and often it is not something I point out now.
“We will analyse it as a team and improve.”
United have six days to prepare for our next fixture; an Old Trafford clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
