AC Milan sporting director Igli Tare has opened up on their pursuit of a Manchester United star.
Rasmus Hojlund future
With the signing of Benjamin Sesko, it has become clear that Hojlund has no future at Old Trafford.
The Dane has been linked with a move all summer but he has so far remained steadfast in his desire to stay and fight for his place at United.
Nonetheless, it was understood that Hojlund may reconsider his position if he were to receive zero minutes against Arsenal yesterday and he was subsequently left out of the squad.
It has also been stated that the striker is opening the door to a move to AC Milan, who are the team who have shown the most interest, but only on the condition that he can seal a permanent deal this summer or next after an initial loan.
Tare’s words
Before Milan’s match versus Bari, their sporting director Tare, in comments carried by Gianluca Di Marzio, opened up on their striker search.
He claimed, “Hojlund? We’re evaluating him these days. The transfer market is unpredictable, things can change at any moment.”
The sporting director also revealed that Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic was also an option in attack.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport have also reported quotes from Tare stating that “Rasmus Hojlund is a good option for us. We’re evaluating him these days, but the transfer market is unpredictable.”
The outlet claims that “the Manchester United player remains the favourite, especially after not being called up for yesterday’s match against Arsenal: he will be sold, and Milan is the most likely destination.”
It is also understood that manager Massimiliano Allegri “would welcome the new striker he’s looking for.”
Still work to be done
It is once again reiterated that a €4 million a year salary for the player and €5 million for the loan to United has already been agreed upon.
Nonetheless, “a handshake has yet to be reached regarding the price of the option to buy and the conditions for it to become a mandatory obligation in just under a year” with the Rossoneri not wanting to go beyond €40 million as a total package.
