Transfer news: United Women sign Rolfo

Fridolina Rolfö has joined Manchester United on a contract until June 2027, subject to registration, after four years at FC Barcelona.

The 31-year-old won her 100th cap for Sweden in the UEFA Women’s European Championship last month, and also scored in the same game against Germany to take her international goal tally to 33.

Rolfö, known as a left-sided player equally comfortable in attack or defence, has 313 senior club appearances and 113 goals with clubs including Barcelona, VfL Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich. With Barcelona, she won two UEFA Champions Leagues and four Primera Division titles. 

Fridolina Rolfö said: 

“It’s really exciting to be joining Manchester United, not just because of the size and history of the club, but also to become part of the journey the club is on in the women’s game. I have been fortunate to enjoy lots of success at Barcelona and other clubs I have played for, and now I want the same at Manchester United. The WSL is probably the strongest league in the world right now, so that was a big part of the appeal of coming here, as well as the chance to help the team establish itself in the Champions League. I can’t wait to work with Marc, his staff and my new team-mates and get started with this new adventure in my career.”
