Manchester United need a new striker this summer. It is one of the worst kept secrets this summer transfer window that the Red Devils are after a new number nine.

It cannot be easy for Man Utd to identify who the perfect option for striker role is. Rasmus Hojlund has been at the club for a while now and is yet to hit the ground running.

The Danish striker has a lot of potential and if he continues to develop, he could become a fearsome striker in the future. However, at the moment, the club need a more reliable goalscorer.

One player that Man Utd have been linked with is Goncalo Ramos. The Portuguese striker has been at PSG for a while now but he is not a regular starter for Luis Enrique.

Now, as per Caught Offside, the Red Devils have identified the talented striker as an alternative to their other target, Benjamin Sesko. It helps that the French club are also willing to let go of the player.

Valued at around £50m, Ramos would be a very interesting option for the club. He made a name for himself by scoring a hattrick in the 2022 World Cup where he benched Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ramos is experienced and is a better finisher than Hojlund. He can come in and create an impact almost immediately and that is exactly what Man Utd want.

He is older than Sesko and might have a lower ceiling than the Slovenian. However, he would be able to come in and offer some experience, having played at a big club like PSG before.

Signing the RB Leipzig man on the other hand would represent a gamble but one that could pay off with massive dividends. Should Sesko come good in the Premier League, he has Erling Haaland-esque potential.

It remains to be seen who among the two players Man Utd decide to go for this summer. Both are very different transfer targets, even though they play the same position and let’s wait and see how things play out.
