After signing two attacking playmakers in the summer transfer window, Manchester United are pressing hard to bring in a quality center forward and the latest reports are optimistic.
As per today’s version of The Mirror, Man United ‘have made a breakthrough in their bid to sign a striker – with a move for Benjamin Sesko edging closer.’
News – Diario Sport – Man Utd told fixed £61m-£69m offer will be accepted for signing
The renowned British media outlet have mentioned that the Red Devils, through intermediaries, have held talks with Slovenian international to bring him to Old Trafford.
Sky journalist, Florian Plettenberg, has also confirmed that the talks have been concrete and the player is expected to prefer a move to the 20-time English champions over Newcastle United.
It must be remembered that the Magpies can offer Champions League football next season, on the other hand, United will not take part in any European competition.
According to The Mirror, there is a gentleman’s agreement between Sesko and RB Leizpig to let the player leave for a fee of £60m-£70m plus add-ons and Man United could even offer Danish forward, Rasmus Hojlund, to bring the price down.
Amorim tried to move for Ollie Watkins but Villa’s £60m asking price for their center forward has proved to be prohibitive.
United are only willing to offer £45million for a player who will turn 30 in just a few months. A similar asking price is on Sesko’s head and it makes more sense to spend around £60m on a talented star who is just 22.
Last season, the former Salzburg boy featured in 35 games for Leipzig in all competitions, scored 21 goals and provided 6 assists.
Have your say – Are Man United right to prioritize signing of Sesko over PL proven Watkins?
