RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has reportedly made a decision on his next club amidst the well-documented interest of Manchester United and Newcastle United.
The 22-year-old has been one of the hottest names on the transfer market this summer, especially over the past few weeks.
With Liam Delap declaring for Chelsea, Hugo Ekitike joining Liverpool, Viktor Gyokeres completing his transfer to Arsenal, and Victor Osimhen returning to Galatasaray, the Slovenian is one of the last sought-after centre-forwards left on the market.
Therefore, Sesko is now a top target for Man Utd who are seeking a new striker to complete a new-look attacking trident following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. However, the Red Devils are facing stern competition from Newcastle, who also want to secure their attacking department following Alexander Isak’s transfer request.
Hence, the two clubs have been embroiled in a tug-of-war for the player’s favour.

While Man Utd have been relying on their fame, prestige and status as one of the biggest clubs in the world, the Magpies enjoy a superior financial status at the moment, and will be able to offer the striker the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season.
According to former Premier League striker Jan Åge Fjørtoft (who now works as an advisor and media personality), Newcastle are willing to satisfy Sesko’s demands, but the player has decided he wants to play for United.

Sesko declares for Man United
In this case, Sesko would follow in the footsteps of Cunha and Mbeumo, who turned down offers from Champions League clubs because they only had eyes for MUFC.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if INEOS will be able to fork out the necessary amount to strike an agreement with Leipzig who want at least £65 million.
Man Utd will have to speed up the exodus process by offloading the likes of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho as fast as possible, and potentially find a new employer for Rasmus Hojlund.
