United fans will be ecstatic about capture of “relentless runner” who “never stops” – report

Manchester United fans will be ecstatic with the latest statistics involving Bryan Mbeumo.

Transfer saga

The Red Devils spent the guts of two months trying to bring the Cameroonian into the club.

They had two offers rejected for the Premier League marksman but they finally got their man when a £65 million deal was sealed.

Impressive statistics

United fans already know what they are getting to an extent as they eagerly anticipate his debut on the United States tour.

The attacker scored 20 Premier League goals last season and fans are also aware of his incredible crossing statistics, where he attempted more than any other player in the league.

Welcome antidote to Ruben Amorim’s problems

One of Amorim’s biggest requirements is his team press like crazy and work hard off the ball.

Sadly, this was hardly a hallmark of Erik ten Hag’s team and Amorim needed to work on this a lot during his first few months.

There are shoots of recovery as they pressed West Ham very well in their last pre-season game with a goal and numerous chances arising from it.

Incredible running ability

The analyst website has highlighted how Mbeumo should immensely help this aspect of United’s game.

The site argues, “there are many reasons United (finally) decided to meet Brentford’s asking price and sign Bryan Mbeumo, his goals and assists being the main ones.”

Nonetheless, “his relentless running is another. The Cameroonian never stops.”

Mbeumo started every Premier League game for Brentford and was only taken off three times. “He consistently ran himself into the ground, constantly giving the opposition’s left-back a headache with his persistent movement.”

Therefore, it is not just pressing but also attacking runs that will cause defenders nightmares.

Incredibly, “he made more runs in behind the opposition when his team had the ball than anyone else in the Premier League last season (418), while he made more runs while sprinting (462) than any other attacker.

In fact, only Daniel Muñoz (960) made more off-the-ball runs all season than Mbeumo (891).

With the increased need for running, pressing and physicality in modern football, these statistics will be music to United fans’ ears.

Alex is a huge Manchester United fan, inspired by greats of his homeland such as George Best, Harry Gregg and Norman Whiteside. Proud owner of such niche shirts such as Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Gary Neville. Grew up pretending to be Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the back garden, with little success.
