CorTorino – Man Utd told £34.9m offer will be accepted as star prepares his farewell

Douglas Luiz Juventus

Manchester United have secured two Premier League proven attackers in the summer transfer window and it is time Amorim starts focusing on other departments.

The Red Devils lack creativity in the center of the park, and in all fairness, apart from Bruno Fernandes, no other midfielder proved to be consistently creative for United last term.

News – Journalist – Man Utd can now seal signing for £16.9m discount with club ready to sell

In such a scenario, a proven PL midfielder is on the wish-list of Man Utd in the form of Brazilian international, Douglas Luiz.

As per a story published by Corriere Torino yesterday (news image provided below), the headline states ‘Juventus, everyone’s happy except Douglas Luiz: he disappears and prepares his farewell’.

The South American, who shone at Aston Villa, is looking to return to the Premier League where Manchester United, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Everton are interested in hiring his services.

CorTorino claim Juve have made the suitors aware that they intend to collect around €40million (£34.9m), ‘the equivalent of his remaining balance sheet weight, to avoid capital losses.’

Should Man Utd sign Douglas Luiz?

In his last season in England (2023-24), the 27-year-old reached double figures in terms of both goals scored and assists provided.

However, in Italy, he dealt with a number of fitness concerns but also spent a long time on the bench when he was completely fit. Responding to criticism, he said:

“Injuries have hindered me, yes. But how long did I remain on the bench while I was healthy? A long time. These injuries were not normal.”

Unfortunately, he was never given a fair chance by The Old Lady and it is better for him to leave if he wants to play week in and week out.

As mentioned above, Man Utd need creativity in the midfield and a talented player like Douglas Luiz, who directly contributed in 14 goals for Villa in his last Premier League season, would strengthen the department.

The 18-capped Selecao star is 27 and has a contract with the Turin based side until 2029.

In your view, should Man Utd bid £34.9m to sign Douglas Luiz?
