United hold talks to sign unstoppable £76m forward, could be massive upgrade on Rashford – report

Manchester United continue to work on reinforcing their attack ahead of the new season.

Bryan Mbeumo is in Manchester, undergoing medical tests after United found a breakthrough in their negotiations with Brentford over his transfer to Old Trafford on Friday.

At the same time, United have agreed a deal with Barcelona to send Marcus Rashford out on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Amorim is understood to be keen on adding more firepower to his attack, leading to United exploring the possibility of signing a French forward.

Manchester United make a move for Randal Kolo Muani

According to Foot Mercato, United are considering to pounce on an opportunity to sign Randal Kolo Muani.

Paris Saint-Germain spent £76.4 million to sign the prolific attacker from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023. However, his future is seen away from the French capital, as Luis Enrique has opted to build his attack around other forwards.

The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, impressing fans and pundits alike in Turin with his energetic performances. He netted eight goals in 16 Serie A appearances.

The French outlet claim that Juve are “doing everything” they can to extend Kolo Muani’s stay in Turin but they face competition from United and Newcastle United.

It is understood the Red Devils have already “initiated contacts” to explore the possibility of signing the France international.

Randal Kolo Muani could replace Marcus Rashford at Manchester United

United have allegedly identified Kolo Muani as a “priority target” for the number nine role, having missed out on Hugo Ekitike, who is nearing a move to Liverpool.

The PSG star mainly thrives as a centre-forward, but he is also capable of playing on both flanks.

Before the pair fell out, Amorim deployed Rashford as a striker, making good use of his pace and direct dribbling. Not only does Kolo Muani possess similar traits, but he is also very consistent and aggressive in his press.
