adidas launch game-changing F50 SPARKFUSION

Manchester United’s official kit supplier, adidas, have released a revolutionary women’s football boot that has been designed by and for female athletes.

The F50 SPARKFUSION is built on over a decade of an anatomical research and performance data to address the long-standing challenge in women’s football of boots designed for male feet being repurposed for female players.

With discomfort an issue arising from that, adidas set out to change the game and United defender Millie Turner is already feeling the difference, saying: “They make me feel freer – I’ve never had a boot that fit my foot so well before.

“The lightness of them helps with that, and it’s had a really positive impact on my movement on the pitch. I really like them. Once I trialled the F50 SPARKFUSION, I found it difficult to go back into the men’s fit. They fit great and support my foot perfectly.”

That fit and support Turner talks about comes after a creation process that saw adidas use its largest-ever female foot scan database to craft a boot comprehensively engineered for women’s feet.

From a narrower heel and higher arch to a more voluminous midfoot, every detail has been considered to provide a boot that enhances comfort and enables faster changes in direction.

Using match data from elite women’s football, the product was designed with speed and agility in mind too, and testing has already shown that athletes were faster in agility drills while wearing the F50 SPARKFUSION compared to unisex boots.

While its performance benefits are clear, function also meets style with the F50 SPARKFUSION. The boot has arrived in a standout pastel purple colour, embellished with bold neon green accents and the signature adidas stripes.

It is available in three different versions: midcut, lowcut laced and laceless, across four price points, from €60 to €260.
