Manchester United will prepare for the 2025/26 campaign with five pre-season fixtures, with the first coming in a month’s time.

Ruben Amorim’s Reds are travelling to the Swedish capital of Stockholm to face Leeds United on 19 July, in advance of the tour to the United States, where we will compete in the Premier League Summer Series, alongside Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham United.

Then it is back to Old Trafford for a final friendly before the big kick-off against Arsenal, with David De Gea and Fiorentina in opposition on Saturday 9 August.

MUTV will be showing all of the games live to subscribers, although American viewers will be unable to see the Premier League Summer Series matches until they are released on demand, due to rights issues.

Here is what you need to know about the upcoming games…

Leeds United (N) – Sat 19 July, 14:00 BST

We kick off our pre-season campaign with a match against our rivals from across the Pennines, ahead of meeting the Yorkshiremen in the Premier League again next term.

While we have to wait until early 2026 for the top-flight reunion, at Elland Road, this return to the scene of our 2017 Europa League triumph is sure to be an interesting one.

Now called the Strawberry Arena, the Stockholm venue could witness a first appearance in a United shirt by new signing Matheus Cunha, as we take on the Championship title winners.

West Ham United (N) – Sun 27 July 00:00 BST

After flying across the Atlantic, Amorim’s men face familiar opposition in the shape of the Hammers, with the match kicking off at 19:00 local time but midnight in the UK.

The game marks another appearance at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where we took on Arsenal recently, as the arena gets set to stage the 2026 World Cup final next year.

Graham Potter’s side struggled towards the end of last term but did win at Old Trafford and will be approaching 2025/26 with fresh vigour after making alterations to their squad. Aaron Wan-Bissaka won the east Londoners’ Player of the Year award, after signing from United last summer.

Bournemouth (N) – Thu 31 July 02:30 BST

A 20:30 local-time start in Chicago means this games takes place in the early hours in the UK, as the Cherries are our next rivals, at Solder Field. A first stop in the Windy City since 2015 should feature an entertaining encounter against Andoni Iraola’s impressive charges, even though the south-coast side must undergo something of a rebuild.

Dean Huijsen is the first of the high-profile departures confirmed, following the Spain defender’s switch to Real Madrid, with other exits reportedly in the pipeline.

Everton (N) – Sun 3 August, 22:00 BST

Our Premier League Summer Series involvement ends with a tussle against David Moyes’s Merseysiders in Atlanta.

The Reds take on our former boss again as he looks forward to ushering in a new era for Everton, as they prepare for a first season in their new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

This Mercedes-Benz Stadium clash represents a first outing in the Georgian city but our former captain Ashley Young is no longer in the Toffees’ ranks, after he was released at the end of his contract.

Manuel Ugarte will have fond memories of the Blues after scoring his first goal for the club against them, also the last-ever strike by a United man at Goodison Park.

Fiorentina (H) – Sat 9 August, 12:45 BST

An Old Trafford airing before the Premier League campaign gets under way always feels right and this should be a memorable occasion at the Theatre of Dreams, with the Snapdragon Cup up for grabs.

Club legend De Gea seems primed to make an emotional comeback to the ground he graced with his goalkeeping skills for 12 years and is certain to receive a warm welcome, with the home faithful not having had a chance to say a proper farewell to the popular Spaniard.

Our last competitive meeting with the Serie A side was back in 2000 and this should be the perfect warm-up for the visit of Arsenal that follows eight days later.
