Rasmus Hojlund could become the latest big-name departure from Manchester United this summer, with both Inter Milan and Juventus reportedly circling.
The Danish striker has endured underwhelming two seasons at Old Trafford following his high-profile move from Atalanta, but his potential continues to attract attention across Europe.
Hojlund has struggled to justify his hefty £72 million price tag since arriving at Old Trafford.
The Danish forward has failed to establish himself as the attacking talisman United desperately need.
According to iPaper, both Italian heavyweights, Inter and Juve have made contact with Hojlund’s representatives to assess the possibility of a summer transfer.
However, whether either club can afford the deal remains uncertain, given United’s likely high valuation.
Despite flashes of brilliance, Hojlund found consistency hard to come by in a United side that often struggled for rhythm and service up front.
Even so, his age, athleticism and potential make him one of the more marketable assets in the squad.
New minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is overseeing an overhaul of United’s football structure, with a number of underperforming stars expected to be moved on.
For Inter and Juventus, much may depend on their ability to free up funds or engineer player-plus-cash deals that might appeal to United.
If a deal were to materialise, it would mark a rapid return to Italy for the Denmark international, and a bold move by one of Serie A’s top sides.
According to reports, United are looking at signing a seasoned number nine like Viktor Gyokeres or Victor Osimhen in which case it does make sense to sell Hojlund while he can attract a decent sum of money.
