United to announce signing of exciting wonderkid shortly – report

Manchester United’s free transfer deal for Le Havre’s Enzo Kana-Biyik is set to be announced shortly.

The club’s owners, Ineos, have received a lot of criticism over a plethora of issues but one aspect they have generally been applauded for is youth recruitment.

The first team has seen Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven both impress as teenagers and even Chido Obi is knocking on the door, after being fast-tracked to a squad role from the academy.

Paraguayan left back Diego Leon will also join the club this summer alongside Harley Emsden-James from Southampton.

It was announced back in April that United had largely completed a deal for Kana-Biyik and he had travelled to Manchester to finalise details of the move.

The Manchester Evening News reports that there is “just red tape remaining to rubber-stamp the move.”

It is explained that “United are waiting on a few regulatory steps before Kana-Biyik’s transfer becomes official.”

The Red Devils are expected to formally announce the signing when they can, unlike with Emsden-James’ move from the Saints.

It had been reported that Kana-Biyik might be loaned out immediately to Ineos owned FC Lausanne-Sport but there is no confirmation of this plan.

What’s more, it has been reported that Ruben Amorim is even considering bringing the forward on the pre-season tour and giving him a chance amongst the first team.

The young Frenchman is an exciting talent and United fought off competition from Paris Saint-Germain to claim his signature.

The 18 year old scored nine goals in 16 matches for Le Havre’s under 19 team last season.
