Manchester United is proud to construct ‘The Academy Wall’ at Old Trafford, a large mosaic featuring 14 homegrown heroes made from almost 20,000 fan images. This is a unique chance for fans to upload a photo and enshrine their memories into the fabric of our home.

The mural has been designed to celebrate the club’s motto of “youth, courage, success” and honour the unique story of our Academy. It is to be installed in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand tunnel and the panels are guaranteed to last for a minimum of five years.

With United due to build a new stadium, this is a last chance for supporters to be part of Old Trafford’s history while they still can. Fans can also order a personalised memento to go alongside a spot to be cherished.

This is a unique opportunity for all United supporters.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

Simply visit www.manutdfanwalll.com and follow the steps on the site. A third-party, Briconomics, are managing the process. Fans can upload a photo for £60, with an early bird discount available for season-ticket holders and executive club members until Sunday 15 June (emails will be sent with further information on how to redeem).

Any supporter who submits a photograph can also purchase a personalised photo frame memento. Starting from £30, they include the personal photo, the larger image and a unique validation number, plus an optional personalised message – an ideal gift for friends and family. Fans can also buy an online gift voucher.

The Academy Wall will be installed once all photocells have been allocated.

The Academy Wall will celebrate the immense contributions of two Busby Babes we lost in Munich, Roger Byrne and Duncan Edwards – we remember their achievements but also their courage and tenacity which made them destined for further greatness but for a cruel twist of fate.

Four 1968 European Cup-winners George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton, Bill Foulkes and Brian Kidd will also adorn the wall, an appropriate tribute to their talent and the symbolism of their triumph, 10 years on from Munich.

Mark Hughes also takes his place in the wall, recognising his 163 goals, especially the two in Rotterdam in 1991, not to mention two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.

A celebration of our Academy would not be complete without David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, representing the Class of ’92. With more than 3,000 appearances between them, their combined achievements are unique, culminating in the Treble in 1999.

The Academy Wall will also honour another Treble winner, Wes Brown, who also played a vital part in the Champions League final victory in 2008, providing an assist for United’s goal.

The final icon who will adorn the wall is Ella Toone. With over 150 appearances (so far!) and a sublime goal to deliver the women’s team’s first major trophy, Toone is already a United legend, and everyone is excited to see what she achieves in years to come.
