Bournemouth star and Manchester United target Antoine Semenyo is reportedly most likely to seal a move to the Saudi Pro League in the upcoming transfer window.

United are gearing up for a busy summer, with the attacking department in particular in urgent need of strengthening. United’s forwards have been underwhelming this season and there is an acceptance that Ruben Amorim requires more firepower to make the club a competitive outfit once again.

In addition to a striker, the Red Devils are also believed to be eyeing a player who can occupy one of the No. 10 positions. Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha appears to be the top choice but another name also keeps popping up – Semenyo.

Semenyo is having an outstanding season, having recorded nine goals and five assists in 33 Premier League appearances so far. This tally includes his strike in the 1-1 draw against United at the Vitality Stadium last month. On that occasion, Semenyo was a nightmare for the United defenders, who struggled to contain him.

The reliable David Ornstein revealed that Amorim is “very fond” of Semenyo and admires the player’s attributes.

It was subsequently relayed that United are frontrunners to land the Ghanaian, who is also of interest to several other Premier League teams.

Now, Graeme Bailey of TBR has provided an update, indicating that Semenyo’s “most likely destination” is the Saudi Pro League.

Bailey names United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle as the parties chasing Semenyo’s services.

However, these clubs are unlikely to meet Bournemouth’s valuation of the 25-year-old, which stands at more than £60million.

The Saudi Pro League would not only be in a position to easily pay what the Cherries want, but also offer Semenyo significantly better wages.

The report adds that Bournemouth will not stand in Semenyo’s way if their asking price is satisfied.

It’s unclear whether or not the London-born forward is open to a switch to the Gulf state even as he approaches the peak years of his career.
