United have the chance to add perfect attacker as England star “given blessing” to leave in the summer – report

Crystal Palace are reportedly ready to sell Manchester United target Eberechi Eze this summer.

United have made plenty of progress in their bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker Matheus Cunha. It has been reported that the Red Devils have already agreed to trigger the Brazilian’s £62.5 million release clause.

Cunha is capable of playing as a centre-forward and winger but it is understood that United see him as an ideal fit for one of the two number 10 positions behind the striker in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.

Amorim has frequently used Bruno Fernandes in a deeper midfield role and it seems the Portuguese wants to add two number 10s to his ranks this summer.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are interested in signing Eze, who is admired by Amorim.

Now, The Sun claim Palace are prepared to part ways with their star player at the end of the season.

It is claimed that Oliver Glasner has “given his blessing” to the sales of both Marc Guehi and Eze to fund an overhaul of his squad this summer.

The 26-year-old Englishman, who has notched nine goals and 11 assists this season, has two years remaining on his contract in south London.

However, his contract reportedly includes a £60m release clause and can be activated by rival clubs at the end of the campaign.

Known for his close control, driving runs, and ball-striking, Eze has all the tools in his locker to breathe new life into the United attack.

Having said that, it is difficult to see United spend north of £120m on two playmakers when there are other areas of the squad that need strengthening.

Further, United also face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for Eze, as the Lilywhites have been tracking the England international for some time.
