Ineos hit new low in latest round of cruel cost-cutting attempts at United – report

Ineos have reportedly cut the options available for lunch at Manchester United’s training ground for all non-playing staff.

The new era at United has been characterised by numerous efforts to cut costs to try and make inroads into the rising debt at the club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has taken some deeply unpopular decisions such as hiking up the price of match day tickets to £66.

The ownership of the club have also let go of numerous staff and there are reports that even more long-term employees could face the axe in the latest round of cost-cutting.

Club legends have also felt the pinch as Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial role has been slashed in an effort to save cash.

The scouting department is also set for job losses as part of Ineos’ redundancy drive.

The attempt to make financial savings has reportedly hit a new low according to The Sun.

“It is understood that lunch for all but first-team players has been reduced to soup and sandwiches — and that includes coaches and analysts.”

Morale among staff members is already said to be at an all-time low as there is a culture of fear spreading in the club.

The owners who have been place for just over a year have been described as “heartless” and have faced a wall of public criticism for their reported targeting of staff members whilst they have wasted significant money on compensation packages for former manager Erik ten Hag and former sporting director Dan Ashworth.

Such is the anger at how the club is being run that there is a planned protest by fans that is due to take place on Sunday 9th March, before United’s game with Arsenal in the league.

Many supporters understand the difficult position the club finds itself in owing to decades of poor management by the Glazer family but constantly targeting the staff and fans does not seem the most productive way of doing things. What’s more, with the image of the club already at a massive low on the pitch, this type of decision only worsen the situation off it.
