Manchester United winger Amad could reportedly miss the remainder of the season after picking up a serious injury in training.
Amad has been one of the very few positives for United during what is proving to be an immensely challenging campaign.
The Ivorian went from being just a squad player under Erik ten Hag to a key figure under Ruben Amorim, who replaced Ten Hag in November last year.
So far this term, Amad has managed nine goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
Now, Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail has revealed that Amad’s season may be over. According to Wheeler, “Amad Diallo may not play again for Manchester United this season after suffering an injury before Sunday’s game at Tottenham.”
“It’s understood that Diallo was hurt in training and now faces a lengthy lay-off that could keep him out of action for the foreseeable future.”
This news has been corroborated by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist wrote on X, “Amad Diallo set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury, confirmed.”
“Man United star suffered the injury earlier this week, as Christ Wheeler reports. He’s expected to be unavailable for the next 3 months.”
“Big blow for United and Rúben Amorim.”

Amad becomes the latest player to sustain an injury this week, after Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer.
Earlier on Saturday, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Mainoo will be sidelined for weeks while Ugarte and Collyer are major doubts for Sunday’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.
With Amad out, Amorim has been left very short of attacking players, following the exits of Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Rashford and Antony temporarily left United in the January transfer window for Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively.
