Manchester United’s impressive record at Craven Cottage continued on Sunday, as the Reds made it eight consecutive league victories in SW6.
Lisandro Martinez’s deflected long-range strike, with 12 minutes left to play, was enough to secure all three points for Ruben Amorim’s men, on an evening where opportunities were at a premium.
The Cottage is quickly becoming one of our favourite top-flight venues to visit – and not just because of its picturesque location by the side of the River Thames.
Fulham’s last victory over United on their home patch came in 2009 and, while we have had longer unbeaten runs at other grounds – most notably Villa Park, where we didn’t lose for 27 years – this is our best winning sequence at any arena away from Old Trafford in the Premier League era.

You’d have to go back to August 2010 for the last time we didn’t take three points from this part of the capital, and even then it took a Nani penalty miss and a last-gasp Brede Hangeland equaliser to deny us, in a 2-2 draw.
The Reds took revenge the following season, as five different players contributed to a thumping 5-0 success, before Wayne Rooney’s 78th-minute goal settled a close encounter in the 2012/13 campaign, on a night where the game had to be briefly halted due to floodlight failure.
Fulham famously held David Moyes’ United to a draw at Old Trafford in 2013/14, the season they were relegated, but United had easily won the reverse fixture, with Antonio Valencia, Robin van Persie and Rooney again scoring.
It took the west Londoners five years to return to the Premier League, but their hoodoo against us continued, as Paul Pogba inspired United to another 3-0 win.
Amid a few yo-yo years for Fulham, another relegation followed and Pogba again came up trumps in an empty Craven Cottage in January 2021, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds moved top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 victory.
Since the Cottagers were promoted back to the top-flight in 2022, we’ve secured three tight and ultimately dramatic wins at their home, with Martinez joining Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes in scoring late winners there.
Garnacho came up trumps in stoppage time with his first Premier League goal for United, just before the World Cup in Qatar, while Fernandes settled last term’s tete-a-tete, squeezing the ball home after 91 minutes.
