United to “shake up the European transfer market” with blockbuster player-plus-cash deal to land red-hot talisman – report

Manchester United battled back to grab a point at Anfield with Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo grabbing both goals in the second half against Liverpool.

The Argentine’s finish for the first goal was worth watching, hitting it beyond Allison at the near post. Rasmus Hojlund had an identical chance in the first half which he wasted and Ruben Amorim will be worried about the Dane’s form.

He looked lost on his own up front once again and hardly managed to make the ball stick under pressure while his finishing has left a lot to be desired in recent weeks.

With Joshua Zirkzee seemingly on his way out and Marcus Rashford also looking to leave, the head coach will be desperate for INEOS to bring in reinforcements if possible in January.

Osimhen a top target

Viktor Gyokeres would have been the perfect addition but the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss’ promise to his former employers could mean the Red Devils will miss out in the winter.

A summer deal also looks in danger as that is why the club has been forced to look elsewhere with red-hot Victor Osimhen emerging as a blockbuster alternative.

Plenty of recent reports have stated that the Nigerian is keen to join the Old Trafford side as part of a swap deal which would see Rashford heading to Napoli.

The hitman has scored 13 goals in 16 appearances for loan club Galatasaray, while providing a further four assists.

The Turkish giants do not want to lose the 26-year-old midway into the season but that could change if United up their offer for the Nigeria international.

Rashford-plus-cash for Osimhen

As relayed by F365, United are willing to send Rashford as well as €20 million to the Naples club to secure the Nigeria international but the Serie A giants might demand more, keeping in mind the compensation needed to be paid to Gala.

“United would be willing to part with Rashford in an operation that could shake up the European transfer market: a swap with Napoli for Victor Osimhen.

“The initial proposal would include the English striker plus 20 million euros to convince the Italian team. However, the Neapolitan club, known for its toughness in negotiations, could demand a higher figure to let their top star leave.”

Rashford can look at Scott McTominay to understand how the lack of media scrutiny can help bring out the best in players. But whether Napoli will agree to the proposal or whether Osimhen will jump ship mid-season remains to be seen.
