90% passing, 6 duels won, 100% dribbles: United sensation put in a Rolls Royce performance vs Leicester

Manchester United thrashed Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday to notch Ruben Amorim’s biggest away win in the Premier League.

The head coach will be delighted with two of his attackers ending their goal droughts against the Foxes. Rasmus Hojlund, without a league goal in 99 days, opened the scoring with a smart finish with his weaker foot.

Alejandro Garnacho also ended his barren streak with a first-time finish while skipper Bruno Fernandes also got his customary goal late on.

Things seem to be falling in place for the Red Devils at the right time ahead of a hectic April month in which the team will face Olympique Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Heaven was fantastic

The only negative on the night was Ayden Heaven’s injury with the centre-back having to be stretchered off in the second half.

But the January signing looked a class apart on his first Premier League start for the 20-time English league champions, and was by far the best defender on the pitch in the first half.

He completed two clearances while his last-ditch tackle was a thing of beauty. He blocked two attempts in quick succession after poor play from senior partner Victor Lindelof.

The former Arsenal starlet put out fires started by his experienced teammates while his composure on the ball was impressive to say the least.

Hopefully, injury is not too serious

He had 53 touches of the ball and completed 90 percent of his passes including two accurate long balls. The defender also completed both of his attempted dribbles.

Heaven also won two fouls for his side to relieve pressure while winning six duels in total and making two tackles (all stats via sofascore). One must remember he is only 18 and yet already looks a bonafide star.

He was a Rolls Royce at the back and Amorim will be bitterly disappointed with his injury setback especially as the youngster looked to be cementing his place in the starting line-up.

With Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro out, Heaven seemed the last remaining fit for the left centre-back slot. Hopefully, his injury is not too serious and we can see him again in United’s colours before the season concludes.
