£68m United superstar frustrated under Amorim, CL giants ready to launch ambitious bid – report

Ruben Amorim faces a battle to retain the trust of his most important player at Manchester United.

Heading into the clash against Liverpool, Amorim finds himself under immense pressure, having overseen a disastrous start to the new campaign.

The hierarchy at Old Trafford continue to publicly back Amorim, but the Portuguese tactician’s failure to steady the ship is starting to test the patience of his captain, as per a report.

Signed from Sporting CP in a deal totaling £68m, Bruno Fernandes has been United’s most consistent performer over the last five years. However, the elite number ten has struggled to reach his level this season after being pushed into a deeper position in midfield.

Fernandes dissatisfied at Man United

According to Fichajes, Fernandes is enduring a period of uncertainty at United and is seriously considering leaving the club at the end of the season if the side’s form and performance don’t improve under Amorim.

It is thought the Portugal international feels this iteration of United isn’t built to support his game.

The 31-year-old is also understood to be frustrated with “certain aspects” of the club’s management. Accordingly, he is exploring his options.

Champions League regulars keen on Fernandes

Bayern Munich are believed to be one of his strongest suitors.

The Bundesliga champions are closely monitoring his situation at United and are reportedly willing to make a significant offer next summer.

United are reluctant to lose their most creative star, but it is claimed that if an offer of around €70 million comes in, the Red Devils could consider opening discussions over a major exit.

Saudi Arabia has also tried to lure Fernandes to the Saudi Pro League.

However, the Portuguese maestro recently rubbished suggestions of a possible move in 2026, stating “that’s an impossible scenario to imagine.”
