4 shots, 91% passing: this midfielder was relentless in attack as United defeated Villa 2-0

It was an uplifting end to a tough season as Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 2-0 in their final Premier League match of the campaign at Old Trafford.

Contrary to most matches this season, Man United dominated throughout the game, taking a massive 25 shots while retaining 67% possession.

Also, unlike the past, United made the most of their statistical domination, coming away with a decisive win.

Several players stood out in the match, clearly motivated to hand United fans a win following a difficult season to bear.

One of those standout performers was Mason Mount, who clearly shrugged off his poor performance in the UEFA Europa League final.

Mount was relentless in the attack from the start of the match, taking two quick-fire shots that the keeper did well to save.

In total, he got three shots on target, with one shot being blocked.

He was also surgical with his passing, completing 31 of 34 passes for 91% passing accuracy.

The Englishman completed one key pass and got two of four crosses on target. His only long ball also found its mark.

Mount somewhat struggled with Villa’s physicality, winning just one of four ground duels and failing to win his sole aerial battle.

Still, he made an important clearance to assist his defence as well.

Overall, it was an impressive showing from Mount, who indicated that he has the potential to become a key part of United’s lineup next season. It seems that this midfielder will certainly be one to watch.
