Manchester United battled back to score late on and grab a point from their Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday. It was the visitors who took the lead in the first half through Casemiro, and safe to say they deserved it as the Red Devils dominated proceedings. In the second half, United capitulated with the home side scoring twice within the opening five minutes of the restart. Diogo Dalot was caught ball-watching for the second, and it is high time the Portugal international gets dropped from the starting XI. Amad saved Amorim’s blushes Ruben Amorim’s strange substitution calls meant the 20-time English league champions hardly created any openings from open play. However, up stepped Amad to save his head coach’s blushes with a wonder strike from distance in the 81st minute. Things could have got a lot better for the Ivorian but his strike in added time was cleared off the line which meant United had to be satisfied with a point. Resurgent star He also made one key pass, while a 100 percent of his crosses found their mark. Defensively, he was caught wanting at times, but that can be expected given he is a forward who has been shoehorned to play at wingback. The ex-Atalanta starlet won all his tackles, while making two clearances and completing six ball recoveries (all stats via sofascore). After a slow start to the season, Amad has definitely picked up the pace in recent weeks, and will be a huge miss when he departs for AFCON. The result meant United are fifth in the table currently, level on points with third-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who are up next for Amorim’s side.
