Manchester United had one player involved in international action last night. Noussair Mazraoui started for Morocco in their 4-0 win over Madagascar. Season The full-back has had a season in and out of the team. He was part of Morocco’s squad that eventually won the Africa Cup of Nations after Senegal were punished for walking off the field in protest. Mazraoui played just 20 matches all season in the Premier League and accumulated a total of 984 minutes. Madagascar match The full-back played 66 minutes before being substituted in the match. He was not required to make any interceptions or clearances and did lose out on his only tackle attempt. Mazraoui was effective in duels, winning six ground duels and 100% of his aerial battles. He also recovered the ball twice. Mazraoui really shone in attack as the champions of Africa put Madagascar to the sword. He made three key passes and created two big chances in the match. Mazraoui also completed 92% of his passes and 100% of his long ball attempts. The Moroccan was also incredibly dangerous carrying the ball forward, completing three of his four dribble attempts. The 28-year-old was also unlucky not to score a goal as his shot came back off the woodwork in an impressive attacking display. Morocco will play another friendly against Norway in what promises to be a much tougher task for the AFCON champions. They will then play Brazil in the opening match at the World Cup on Sunday, 14th June, where Mazraoui will come face to face with his club teammates Casemiro and Matheus Cunha. Mazraoui will then also face off against Scotland and Haiti to close the group.
