100% long balls, 85% pass accuracy: United Women star puts on passing clinic in narrow international defeat

Manchester United Women’s player Hinata Miyazawa was in action last night for Japan. Successful season The 26-year-old midfielder entered the season rather unsure of her role in the starting line-up. Her talent has always been obvious, but she had failed to secure a permanent role in the team. This has all changed this season, as she is Marc Skinner’s go-to midfield option in the centre of the park, having started 17 league games this season. Miyazawa has also tasted success for Japan, as she won the Asia Cup earlier this year with her national side. Match versus United States The midfielder was given a start in Japan’s 0-3 loss to the United States. It was the third friendly match the two sides have played over the course of the April international break. She completed 85% of her passes in the match but was unable to produce any key passes during the game. In her 60 minutes on the pitch, she was also unable to deliver a successful cross for her teammates. Miyazawa was also spot on with her long balls, completing 100% of her attempts to show off her passing range against the Americans. The diminutive midfielder also won one duel and completed two interceptions in the match. Miyazawa did not complete any tackles or win any aerial duels in the match. She will now return to England, where United face three vital matches to end the season as they aim to secure Champions League football for next season. United will travel to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 26th April at 12:00 BST.
