100% duels won, 100% dribbles completed: United star comes off bench to help nation seal top spot in group

Manchester United’s Amad and Bryan Mbeumo were both involved in the Africa Cup of Nations on New Year’s Eve. Amad The United winger has been vital for his nation in this tournament, scoring two goals in the opening two group games. Amad was rested for the Ivory Coast’s match against Gabon but came off the bench for the final 14 minutes. The Ivorian played a key role in helping his side overturn a 2-1 deficit to win the match 3-2 and secure top spot in their group above Mbeumo’s Cameroon. In his 14 minutes off the bench, he had two shots on goal, with one effort being blocked. He completed 100% of his dribble attempts in the match and won 100% of his tackles. Amad was also incredibly accurate in his duels, winning all four of his attempts to help his side gain control of the game. The Ivory Coast and Amad will now take on Burkina Faso on Tuesday 6th January, in the Round of 16. He had one key pass in the half and was responsible for creating one big chance in the match. The 26-year-old also had one shot that was blocked by the opposition and was unable to attempt any dribbles. He also had little defensive work, failing to compete in any duels or win any tackles during his 45 minutes of action. Cameroon and Mbeumo will now take on South Africa in the Round of 16 match on Sunday 4th January.
