Jadon Sancho The English winger has not had the most productive loan spell in the world at Aston Villa, scoring just one goal all season. He has been much more involved for the Villans, however, since around Christmas, after barely getting a kick in the early parts of the season. The 25-year-old was given an opportunity to impress in Aston Villa’s last-16 match against LOSC Lille in the Europa League. Aston Villa ran out 2-0 winners on the night and 3-0 on aggregate as Sancho played a key part in the match. Performance Sancho was heavily involved in the match and almost scored a fantastic goal. He ran at the French side’s defence and unleashed a powerful effort that struck the outside of the post in the second half. Sancho also got himself an assist for John McGinn’s crucial first goal of the night. He broke through the Lille defence and expertly teed up the Scotsman, who made no mistake slotting the ball into the back of the net. It was the type of quality that Sancho possesses but has shown far too inconsistently in his career to date. He made two key passes in the match and completed an impressive 85% of his attempts. Sancho also had one shot that was blocked, alongside the one effort that hit the post. The winger also completed 100% of his tackles and won four more duels in a strong showing for the Villans. He will likely next be in action when his side welcome West Ham to Villa Park on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.
