Manchester United’s loanee striker Rasmus Hojlund crashed back down to earth in a 0-2 loss to Manchester City.
Fantastic start
The striker made the perfect start to life for SSC Napoli in their 3-1 victory over Fiorentina.
The Dane found the back of the net early in the first half and played an all-round impressive match for Antonio Conte’s side.
Crash back down to Earth
SSC Napoli showed some grit and determination but were ultimately defeated 2-0 by City with goals coming from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.
The Italians made the worst possible start when their captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo was sent off after just 21 minutes.
It meant that they only managed one shot in the entire game and Hojlund was left totally isolated up front by himself.
Long evening
Hojlund did not manage to have any shots of any kind as the Italian side rarely crossed their own halfway line.
He also failed to attempt any dribble attempts as he could not lay a glove on the City defence.
The extent of his isolation can be seen in his passing figures as he only attempted eight passes in 72 minutes on the pitch, only completing four of them.
The Danish international was also incredibly inefficient in his defensive work.
He lost both his ground duels and also only won one of his three aerial battles during the match.
The striker was also unable to make any clearances or interceptions for his side as he struggled to have any sort of impact at all on the game.
The Napoli forward will be looking to play much better when his side welcome Pisa to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday evening.
