Man United youngster, Maxi Oyedele, has returned to the club after his Forest Green Rovers loan spell was cut short.

Manchester United is among the toughest clubs in the world to make a name for yourself at. The Red Devils are always shopping at the elite table when it comes to signings, thus, as a young player, it’s almost impossible to break into the first team.

First and foremost, it’s about having an exemplary attitude. Unless you’re giving 100% every single time you take to the training field, you’ve got absolutely no chance.

The loan system is often a pathway utilised by clubs like United. For young players, it’s their best chance to impress. It’s an opportunity you have to grasp with both hands.

Sadly, young Maxi Oyedele hasn’t been able to use that to his advantage. He headed to Forest Green Rovers on loan this season, though has since returned to United following struggles.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Oyedele’s ‘productivity’ was questioned by manager Steve Cotterill. The attacker would never play for Forest Green Rovers again after that point, making just four appearances in total for the League Two club.

He (Oyedele) has to do a lot more to get in the starting line-up. I didn’t feel there was enough productivity from him in the second half.” Cotterill said.

Oyedele has since been spotted back at Carrington, working with the first-team intermittently. That’s something he’ll continue to do, while playing for the U21 side for the remainder of the season.

Technically, Oyedele is still on loan at Forest Green, though it’s highly unlikely he’ll return to the League Two club for the remainder of the season.

The good news for Oyedele is that he’s still young enough to not let this affect his career. The attacker will be hoping to end the campaign strongly for the Reds’ U21s, before starting afresh this summer.

Do you think Maxi Oyedele has what it takes to make it at the highest level? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
