Man United 0-Man City 2 The first Manchester derby of the season played out at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

And Manchester City would completely dominate the tie. United’s pressing proved poor throughout, meaning they were unable to gain any sort of foothold across the 90 minutes.

In turn, goals from Eric Bailly (OG) and Bernardo Silva saw City come away with a comfortable 2-0 win.

Their triumph on the day marked City’s first against Man United in the league since all the way back in 2019.

And it came despite Solskjaer having opted to start with a back-three formation, with which the Red Devils have previously enjoyed success against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Why Ronaldo has been ‘left frustrated’ with Greenwood The two-man strike force fielded by Solskjaer on Saturday came in the form of Mason Greenwood and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani had played well against Tottenham in a 3-5-2, but the former did not enjoy anywhere near as much success alongside Greenwood, albeit with City having of course proven a much tougher opponent.

But it also may have had something to do with Greenwood himself. Unlike Cavani, who is a very selfless player, Greenwood often opts to go for goal from all sorts of positions, which makes sense given his superb shooting ability.

However, this tendency to take aim so often is said to have left Ronaldo frustrated.

According to the Mirror:

The Portugal captain has been left frustrated by Greenwood’s tendency to shoot on sight rather than look to assist him at earlier points this season, according to reports in late October.
