It never really quite worked out for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, but he sure did give the club some memorable times.

The charismatic Norwegian manager brought the good times back to Old Trafford. The fans had a genuine connection with Manchester United again – and he did play some seriously good attacking football at times.

But alas, such is the nature of being boss around Carrington, if trophies aren’t coming in, you’re deemed as a failure. Solskjaer’s side lost the Europa League on penalties, then after a bad start to the next season, the club legend was ultimately relieved of his duties.

His final demise was a depleting 4-1 loss to Watford in the Premier League. Some of the player’s actions now hit home given the fact we know the context.
