Video: United star fuels exit rumours with surprising comments at charity event

Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana has broken his silence on his future at the club following a torrid season that saw the Red Devils finish fifteenth in the Premier League.

Speaking from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where he is taking part in charity events organised by the Bertrand Traoré Foundation, the Cameroonian was asked directly whether he expects to leave Old Trafford this summer.

“If I leave? I don’t know, we’ll see,” he replied.

The goalkeeper’s vague remarks have done little to dispel speculation, particularly as interest from Saudi Arabian clubs continues to grow.

With United embarking on a much-needed rebuild, Onana’s place in the squad appears far from guaranteed.

Onana endured a catastrophic debut season at United, quickly becoming one of the most criticised figures in a team that completely collapsed.

The Cameroonian was brought in to modernise United’s play from the back, but instead found himself overwhelmed and exposed both by his own errors and a porous defence.

Statistically, the numbers were damning.

He registered the lowest clean sheet percentage of any United keeper since 2003 and recorded the second-worst save rate in that same timeframe.

Despite a few moments of promise, his lack of authority, poor decision-making and shaky performances consistently cost United points in what became one of their worst ever Premier League campaigns.

For now, both the player and the club remain tight-lipped.

But with pre-season fast approaching, a resolution one way or the other is expected soon.
