Video: Marcus Rashford opens his account for Barcelona in impressive display

Marcus Rashford scored his first goal for FC Barcelona in their final match of their pre-season tour of Asia.

Positive start

The England international came off the bench at half-time for the third consecutive game.

He has grown into the games he has been involved in and grabbed an assist in his last match against FC Seoul.

The forward went one better today and added his side’s fifth goal of the contest against FC Daegu.

First goal

Rashford impressed whilst he was on the pitch and finished off a fine move by the Catalans.

A well-worked move set Eric Garcia off on the right hand side of the pitch and he drilled in a low cross that was expertly tucked away by Rashford, sending the keeper the wrong way.

He was also involved in Barca’s fourth goal, playing a quick one-two before Toni Fernandez was released to slot into the Koreans’ net.

Rashford was also given the responsibility of taking free kicks in the second half but drilled his effort into the wall from range.

His final effort came in the 85th minute when he curled in a first time effort but it drifted harmlessly wide of the left hand post.

All in all, he had 38 touches of the ball and four shots on goal.

He completed 76% of his passes with one of them being classified as a key pass in the match.

The one negative was that he only won one ground duel out of a contested three but it also must be said that Barca had a huge 74% of the ball, meaning there were few duels for him to contest.

Rashford will get his first taste of action in front of his new home fans when Barcelona welcome Como for the Joan Gamper Trophy on Sunday evening.
