Video: 1 key pass: 88% pass accuracy: United loanee comes through huge test in 1-1 draw versus Rangers

Manchester United loanee Ethan Williams had another positive showing for Falkirk yesterday.

Summer success

After spending the second half of last season at Cheltenham Town, Williams was called up to the senior United team’s tour of the United States of America in July.

Despite having limited opportunities, he scored a goal against AFC Bournemouth in the second match of the tour.

It was eventually decided that he would not join the senior team for the season but would go out on loan to Falkirk in the Scottish Premier League.

He impressed in a 2-2 draw versus Hibernian where he grabbed two assists last month.

Impressed versus Rangers

The 19-year-old played 75 minutes of Falkirk’s highly credible 1-1 draw at home to the Glaswegian giants.

Williams’ biggest contribution to the action was in the first half when he won the ball high up the pitch.

The academy starlet turned rapidly and fired a dangerous, swerving effort towards the Rangers’ goal.

Unfortunately, it drifted just wide of the post and he continues to search for his first goal for The Bairns.

The winger made one key pass in the match and completed 88% of his passes.

Williams had 32 touches of the ball but could only connect with one of his four crossing attempts from the left wing.

He was more accurate in his long ball attempts though, finding the target with two of his three efforts.

As well as one shot off target, he also had one attempt that was well blocked by the Rangers’ defence.

Williams did contribute defensively, winning three ground duels and making two tackles in the match.

The result moves Falkirk into 10th place in the league, two points off the bottom of the table.

They will next be in action away to Motherwell on Saturday 18th October after the international break.

Alex is a huge Manchester United fan, inspired by greats of his homeland such as George Best, Harry Gregg and Norman Whiteside. Proud owner of such niche shirts such as Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Gary Neville. Grew up pretending to be Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the back garden, with little success.
